TORANESA TYPE
A bespoke slab-serif display typeface designed for the street signage of Torà (Catalonia). The project is rooted in the town’s industrial legacy, specifically it’s history as home to one of Spain’s most significant iron forges.
The typeface mirrors the raw materiality of ironwork through robust, heavy serifs, while specific characters feature ornamental flourishes inspired by the town’s vernacular wrought iron gates and lanterns. This project goes beyond functional wayfinding; it is a typographic tribute to local heritage, blending historical craftsmanship with contemporary type design to preserve the visual essence of the community.
